Guwahati: Bollywood superstar Priyanka Chopra was today named as the brand ambassador for Assam tourism.State Tourism Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma, announcing it at a press conference here, said Ms Chopra has already signed a contract for promoting Assam tourism for a period of two years.He said she will be visiting the state on December 24 for a meeting with international tour operators as a first assignment for the state.
Mr Sharma further said she will feature in still and video advertisements for the state and the advertisements will be displayed or broadcast globally, without confining to India."We will concentrate on countries like UK, USA, Japan and Germany, which have a connection with us," he added.The financial component for the tourism campaign will be announced in next year's budget, he added.
