Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt wraps up 'Brahmastra' shooting after 5 yrs

Mumbai: 'Brahmastra Part One - Shiva,' the much-awaited movie of reel-turned-real life Bollywood couple, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, on Tuesday wrapped up, after witnessing a marathon shooting for five long years.

The final schedule of the film was shot in Varanasi.

Taking to Instagram, Alia shared the pictures and videos from the shoot and wrote, "We started shooting in 2018. And now … finally .. The filming of Brahmastra (Part One) comes to an end !! The 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' actor, along with her real-life partner, looked at ease in the videos, shouting with joy.

Director Ayan Mukerji also shared photos from the shoot and said, "And finally… It's a Wrap! 5 years since we took our first shot on Brahm?stra, and we've finally filmed our last one! Absolutely incredible, challenging, once-in-a-lifetime journey!!! Some hand of destiny that we finished the shoot of 'Part One: Shiva' in Varanasi - a city infused with the spirit of Shiv Bhagwan, and that too at the most sacred Kashi Vishwanath Mandir, allowing us to finish in an atmosphere of purity, joy and blessings. He also shared a picture with Alia and Ranbir of their visit to the temple.

Producer Karan Johar also shared the video of Alia and Ranbir with the caption, "And this wonderful, exciting, thrilling journey... one filled with the utmost hardwork, dedication, love & passion has come to an end. The film also stars legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan, Southern star Nagarjuna and stunning actor Mouni Roy.

The fiction flick is slated to hit the theatres on September 9 in five languages -- Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. (UNI)
