Mumbai: Esteemed Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda is set to return to the action genre after a five-year hiatus with the latest pan-India film "Jaat", released on Thursday.
This marks his first full-fledged action role since his Hollywood debut in "Extraction" alongside Chris Hemsworth under the direction of Sam Hargrave and production by the Russo Brothers.
The film helmed by Telugu director Gopichand Malineni, is expected to blend visceral action sequences with emotionally charged storytelling, creating a narrative that is both gripping and layered, marking his Bollywood debut.
Speaking about his return to the action zone, Randeep says, “I’ve always loved action—it’s raw, visceral, and electrifying. After playing intense roles in biopics and police dramas, slipping into the skin of someone as ruthless as Ranatunga was absolutely kicking. It challenged me physically and emotionally, and reminded me why I fell in love with this genre in the first place.”
