New Delhi: More than four decades after the legendary Yash Chopra enthralled audiences with the taut thriller 'Ittefaq', Karan Johar 's Dharma Productions, Shahrukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment and BR films are coming up with a remake of the film.The shoot of the remake of 1969 thriller 'ittefaq', helmed by the late Yash Chopra, kicked off on Monday.
Featuring Sidharth Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles, the 'Ittefaq' is being produced by Shah Rukh's Red Chillies Entertainment along with Dharma Productions and BR Films.
'Great day one of 'Ittefaq'.Thank you SRK sir.This one will be special," Sidharth shared on Instagram.He also posted on his Instagram account a photograph featuring the team with the movie's clapboard.
In a statement later, Sidharth said, 'It was great to have Shah Rukh sir visit us on the sets.
He gave us tips and creative suggestions on our roles.I am really excited to create this film with Dharma and Red Chillies.' Sonakshi also expressed her excitement on being part of the film.

Tweeting about the event, Shahrukh said the original Ittefaq, which featured Rajesh Khanna, Nanda and Bindu, was one of the favourite films of Yash Chopra."My favourite films by Yashji, 'Ittefaq' is being recreated by Abhay.Thanks Sidharth Malhotra, Sonakshi Sinha, Akshay.Also, BR and Dharma Films tie up with RCE," Shah Rukh tweeted.
