Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has officially kicked off the shoot for his much-anticipated film 'Battle of Galwan'.
He dropped the picture on his Instagram handle in which Salman is seen in a military uniform. His rugged moustache and commanding gaze reflected fierce patriotism.
The film, inspired by the real-life events of the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese troops, marks a significant departure from Khan’s recent roles.
Salman Khan is all set to portray an Indian Army officer in 'Battle of Galwan', directed by Apoorva Lakhia. The violent confrontation resulted in the loss of 20 Indian soldiers, while the Chinese side also reportedly suffered significant casualties.
Set against the backdrop of escalating tensions between the two nations, Battle of Galwan will delve into the bravery of Indian troops and the strategic military responses that followed.
Salman Khan had announced the project in early July by revealing a gripping motion poster on social media, which quickly went viral. The film also stars Chitrangda Singh opposite Khan, marking a fresh on-screen pairing.
As Salman steps into the role of a soldier, Battle of Galwan aims to offer a powerful tribute to the courage and sacrifice of the Indian Army during one of the most critical border stand-offs in recent history.
