New Delhi:Hindi cinema actor Sanjay Dutt's wife Maanayata on Wednesday asked fans not to fell in prey to speculations and unwarranted rumours over the health condition of her husband who has been diagnosed with stage III lung cancer.
In a statement, Maanayata said, ''I thank everyone who have expressed their well wishes for Sanjay Dutt's speedy recovery. We need all the strength and prayers to overcome this phase. There is lot that the family has gone through in the last few years but I am confident that this too shall pass."
"However, it is a heartfelt request to Sanjay's fans to not fall prey to speculation and unwarranted rumours but to just help us with their ongoing love, warmth and support,'' it said.
The 61-year-old actor had on Tuesday announced that he was taking a break from films for his medical treatment. He was admitted to a hospital on August 8 after complaining of breathlessness. He was discharged two days later.Maanayata expressed confidence that the actor would triumph in the battle against his illness.
''Sanjay has always been a fighter and so has our family. God has yet again chosen to test us to overcome the challenges ahead. All we seek is your prayers and your blessings, and we know we will emerge winners on the other side, as we always have. Let us use this opportunity to spread light and positivity,'' she said.(UNI)
