Thane: A sharpshooter who was also involved in the shootout of the Bollywood actor Rakesh Roshan was arrested from Kalva on Friday night, police said on Saturday.
Senior Inspector of the Central Crime Unit Anil Honrao said, acting on a tip off, that the accused Sunil Gaikwad (52) who was on parole was to come to Parsik region, the police laid a trap and nabbed him
He said that the accused was affiliated to the two notorious gangs of Subash Singh Thakur and Alibadri he said.
The accused was involved in 11 murders cases and seven attempts to murders cases and one of them was the shoot out and attempt on the life of film star Rakesh Roshan.
He said that the accused who was undergoing life imprisonment in a murder case at the Nashik central jail came out on a parole for 28 days on June 26, and did not turn.(UNI)
