SHOCKING! Tamil actor Vijay Antony's daughter commits suicide

Famous Tamil actor and composer Vijay Antony's daughter allegedly died by suicide on Tuesday.

Meera, 16, was found dead at her residence in Chennai's Teynampet early Tuesday.

She was reportedly rushed to a hospital in Mylapore but was declared dead by doctors.

She was a Class 12th student and was battling depression, according to some reports.

Her body has now been sent for post-mortem.

Soon after the news broke on social media, the Tamil film fraternity offered condolences to the family.

Sarathkumar, director Venkat Prabhu and several others took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to offer condolences to their family.

Several Tamil actors and directors expressed grief over Vijay Antony's daughter's death.

In a post on X, director Venkat Prabhu said: "Woke up to this shocking news! Deepest condolences Vijay Antony Saar and family. RIP Meera."

Veteran actor R Sarathkumar wrote on X: The news of the untimely and unfortunate demise of Meera, the daughter of @vijayantony and Fatima is shocking beyond imaginations. No amount of consoling and condolences can replace the everlasting grief of Vijay Antony and Fatima. Vijay I hope the almighty gives strength to your family to bear this unfathomable loss. May her soul rest in peace #RIPMeera.”

Tamil actress and politician Khushbu Sundar wrote on X: “No parent should go through the pain of losing a child. My heart is with #VijayAntony and his family in such a  devastating moment. May they find the strength to cope.”

Actor Jayam Ravi wrote: “It’s heartbreaking to hear about the loss of your daughter @vijayantony  brother. To all the children out there, please know that you are cherished, valued, and never alone. We are living only for ur happiness and love. Life is full of ups and downs, and you have the power to overcome the challenges… Whatever share to parents we r there to face for u. RIP Meera”
