Mumbai: Relentless promotion and mouth publicity can lead to a good opening at the box office for a movie. This comes out to be true for Luv Ranjan’s Sonu ke Titu ki Sweety. The youth oriented movie witnessed a large number of movie goers on the opening day, which reflected on the box office collections. The opening day collection of the movie is 6.42 crore. This can be termed as decent start as Bhansali’s “Padmaavat” is still going strong in a few states.
While on the other hand, Sonakshi and Diljeet Dosanjh Starrer “Welcome to New York” not only failed to get good reviews from critics but also ignored by the public. The movie managed to collect only 75 Lakhs on the opening day. Clearly, there is a huge difference in the collections of both the movies which clashed at box office yesterday. (WD)
