Frames Film Festival is the annual departmental festival initiated by the Mass Media Dept. of SIES (Nerul) College of Arts, Science and Commerce.
On the 3rd of December 2019, the team of Frames took a day out to celebrate ‘International Day of Disabled Persons’ with children who have to live with their disabilities every single day.
They collaborated with the ETC Centre for Disability in Vashi to spend a day with these adorable kids.

The team organized a bunch of fun activities that encouraged the differently abled children to showcase their skills, ranging from dance to gully cricket. Members of the Helen Keller Academy of Deaf and Deafblind were also a part of the inauguration ceremony, arranged by ETC, which witnessed a spectacular welcome performance by the specially-abled kids.
After the show, everyone took part in a silent but effective rally where uplifting slogans were held up on signboards in support of inclusivity of such differently abled children.

On returning back from the rally, the children were split into four groups- the visually impaired, the deaf and mute, the autistic, and the learning disabled. With the guidance of the volunteers from team Frames, they were encouraged to take part in various creative tasks like painting and singing. Famous Bollywood tracks were also played, and though the kids were hesitant to perform at first, they slowly started to enjoy themselves where they nailed all the iconic dance moves instantly. To end it all, the team of Frames also arranged for a large banner on which all the kids gleefully left their palm imprints in bright yellows and reds.

In conclusion, this initiative by Frames Film Festival was a highly successful one as it was initiated with a cause and ended on a strong note stating ‘disability shouldn’t be an obstacle rather an expression of ability in diversity’.
