Mumbai: Ahead of the launch of the much-awaited epic drama series, Prime Video hosted a spectacular Asia Pacific premiere here, for ‘The Lord of The Rings: The Rings of Power’ which soon translated into a spectacular city tour.
After the grand premiere, the cast and showrunner of the series were seen capturing pictures in front of the Gateway of India in Mumbai.
Throughout the two-day tour, the cast and crew immersed themselves in the colours of Mumbai with a visit to the majestic Gateway of India and a meet and greet with the superheroes of Mumbai, the city’s dabbawallas, while enjoying a traditional meal from dabbas.
Dressed in very attractive attires, Tyroe Muhafidin, Nazanin Boniadi, Maxim Baldry, Markella Kavenagh, Sara Zwangobani, Megan Richards along with Ema Horvath, Lloyd Owen, showrunner JD Payne, Charles Edwards and Robert Aramayo -- the team was seen in a group photo in front of the arch-monument.
They also spent some quality time with Mumbai’s famed Dabbawallas.
They not only clicked pictures with the dabbawalas, but also got a go at the real feel of the community who have delivered lunches to the working class and office goers for decades. The Ring team wore Gandhi caps with their names written on them.
The dabbawalas posed in their usual attire of white kurta pyjama and the traditional Gandhi cap.
Later, the team enjoyed delicious meals with the dabbawalas. It certainly came as a truly authentic experience for the team of ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’.
The premiere reflected the rich, cinematic world of the series, with the cast and crew making a grand entrance on the carpet in true Mumbai-style in a set of vibrant and colourful autorickshaws, accompanied with a thunderous percussion and traditional dancers.
