Thane: Though Prime Minister Narendra Modi banned Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes on Wednesday, this demand was made in a Tamil movie 'Picchaikaran' (Beggar), a 2016 Indian Tamil action thriller starring Vijay Antony in lead role.

The film, directed by Sasi, was released on March 4, 2016.The Telugu dubbed version was titled as 'Bichagadu' and was released on May 13, 2016.Seeing the surgical attack on banning the notes, the film has also come in limelight and would be released tomorrow on the Sun TV.

The channel has, since past four days, started making announcement of the movie in which a beggar is suggesting the ways and means to curb the corruption and saying Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes should be banned as they were rampantly being used for giving and taking bribes.
