TRAGIC! Stuntman dies after falling from 20 feet on sets of actor Karthi's 'Sardar-2'

Chennai: In a tragic incident, a stuntman died after he accidentally fell on the sets of actor Karthi's 'Sardar-2' in the city late on Tuesday night, just a day after the film went on floors.
 
The incident occurred at L V Prasad Studios at Saligramam in Chennai where the film shooting took place.
 
The stunt rig man Elumalai, after filming a fight sequence accidentally fell from a height of 20 ft and suffered serious injuries, the Production house, Prince Pictures, said in a release posted on X on Wenesday.
 
He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed despite intensive treatment late last night.
 
In the release, Producer S.Lakshman Kumar said "we regret to report the death of Mr Elumalai, a member of the Stunt Union, who worked as a stunt rig man on the sets of our film 'Sardar-2".
 
"On Tuesday evening, after the stunt sequences were filmed, as we were wrapping up shooting for the day, Mr Elumalai accidentally fell from a rostrum of 20 ft high and sustained injuries", he said.
 
He was rushed to the nearby Multi-speciality hospital, where he was treated by a team of docotrs. However, at around 11.30 pm, despite the intensive medical treatment, Mr Elumalai unfortunately passed away, Lakshman Kumar said.
 
"Our entire team extend our sincerest condolences to Mr Elumalai's family and we stand with them in this time of grief", he added.
 
Virugambakkam police have registered a case and are investigating.
 
PS Mithran is directing 'Sardar 2' which is bankrolled by Prince Pictures.
 
Actors Karthi and Ashika Ranganath are the lead actors and the music was being composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
 
'Sardar 2' is a sequel to the 2022 spy thriller 'Sardar' directed by PS Mithran starring Karthi.
