Actress turned Bestseller Twinkle Khanna to talk on gender equality at SDGs Impact Summit

Actress turned Bestseller Twinkle Khanna to talk on gender equality at SDGs Impact Summit
, Thursday, 14 November 2019 (18:30 IST)
New Delhi:Bestselling author and producer Twinkle Khanna, is all set to join global supermodel and philanthropist Natalia Vodianova at the inaugural SDGs Impact Summit on November 16, for discussion on the importance of addressing issues around women's health and gender equality for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The two champions of female rights will come together for the 'Let's Talk!' panel, moderated by the Indian activist for gender equality Trisha Shetty, for a discussion on menstrual hygiene, reproductive rights and mental wellbeing from the global lens of two prestigious social changemakers from different corners of the world.

Through the conversation, Natalia and Twinkle would demonstrate how issues relating to women's health such as stigmas and taboos, was not just a developing world issue but a worldwide phenomenon.

The issue of women's health was not exclusive to any one country, continent or walk of life, which means it requires a truly global discussion ? bridging the gap between the Global North and South. Women are not only more affected by these problems, but also possess ideas and leadership to solve them. Gender discrimination still holds too many women back, meaning it also holds our world back too.

The two change makers Twinkle and Natalia were meeting at the SDGs Impact Summit organised by ''The World We Want'' and ''Times Strategic Solutions Limited'' which is a global gathering of prolific social pioneers to assess the progress and future direction of the 17 SDGs first established at the United Nations General Assembly in 2015 by 193 world leaders.
