Kanpur:The trailer of 'Prakash Dubey Kanpur Wala,' a web-series being made on Bikru case main accused Vikas Dubey in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur, has been a subject of controversy and the Samajwadi Party workers have given a written complaint against the director at a police station.
In the complaint, the workers have stated that the director of the film has deliberately taken up the name of the SP president to tarnish his image.
Alleging an attempt to deliberately tarnish the image of party president Akhilesh Yadav, numerous SP workers reached the Chhavni CO office, along with party worker Abhimanyu Gupta. Raising slogans against the filmmakers, they furnished a complaint against them for a case to be registered.
SP's outgoing state vice-president Abhimanyu Gupta said that Golden Bird Pictures have made a film (web-series) on the Bikru incident and Vikas Dubey encounter called 'Prakash Dubey Kanpur Wala.' It's trailer was released some days back.
The filmmaker and director of the web-series is Akash Singh Gaharwar. In the trailer, an actor wearing a costume similar to SP president Akhilesh Yadav says that Prakash Dubey is innocent when the party president has never said anything like this.
This has been done deliberately to tarnish the image of Mr Yadav and mislead the people, he added. (UNI)
