New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Wednesday refused to stay the release of Bollywood movie Fanney Khan, starring Anil Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai in the lead. The flick would be released as per schedule on August 3.
Dismissing the petition filed by Producer Vashu Bhagnani, a two-judge Bench, headed by Justice Rohinton Fali Nariman and comprising Justice Indu Malhotra, refused to stay the release.
Bhagnani had moved the court, seeking a stay on the release of Fanney Khan, over distribution rights.
The petitioner had contended that the distribution rights of the movie in the country were entrusted to his company, Pooja Entertainment and Films Limited and that he has already purchased the same.
He also claimed that it was discussed and mutually agreed upon by his associate and producer to give him the credit as a co-producer, in the film, which was not done properly. (UNI)
