Mumbai: Riding on a strong buzz around it, ‘M S Dhoni – The Untold Story’, the biopic on the life of Indian cricket team’s current ODI and T20I captain M S Dhoni, has taken a good start at the box office, trade sources said.The sources said the film, which stars Sushant Singh Rajput in the title of role and Kiara Advani, Disha Patani and Anupam Kher in key roles, had an occupancy of around 50 per cent in the morning show.
Trade sources feel that the occupancy level of the film is expected to rise towards the afternoon and evening shows and witness a further rise during the weekend.
Given the strong buzz around the film and going by the rave reviews by those who had watched the film at special screenings over the past two days, the film could well take a big opening at the box office.
In fact, trade experts feel that the film could have collections of over Rs 18 crore to Rs 19 crore on its opening day.Trade experts feel that the film could well prove to be the biggest earner for Sushant Singh Rajput.What make the chance of the film getting a big collection is the fact that it is a solo release this week.
Distributed by Fox Star Studios and produced by Fox star jointly with Inspired Entertainment and Arun Pandey, in association with Friday Film Works, the film is directed by Neeraj Pandey, who earlier directed the famous ‘A Wednesday’ The film , released on a record 500 cinema screens, has been dubbed and simultaneously released in Tamil, Telugu, and Marathi languages.The movie follows the journey of Dhoni, a budding cricketer from Ranchi becoming the most successful captain of Indian Cricket Team.
