Maharashtra: All India Marathi Sahitya Sammelan in Udgir

Latur: Udgir town in Latur distric is holding the 95th All India Marathi Sahitya Sammelan which starts from April 22, officials said.

Around one thousand Marathi writers from all over the country have been invited for this three-days conference which will be held in the premises of Udayagiri College.

Accommodation has been arranged at 140 places in Udgir, 30 places in Bidar and 40 places in Latur including in various colleges at Udgir.

The venue has been renamed as 'Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar Sahityanagari' and seven platforms have been set up for various events.

Welcome arches have been erected on the main thoroughfares of the city to welcome the lovers of literature.

Considering the summer heat, more than 100 jumbo coolers have been installed at the convention site. Each pavilion has a fan installed at a height of 10 feet. Lemonade is being provided by various charitable organizations.

The meet will be inaugurated by NCP President MP Sharad Pawar at 11 am and the concluding session will be held on April 24 and will be attended by President of India Ramnath Kovid and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.

The three-day conference will feature speeches by eminent writers, seminars will be organised on various topics, poets' convention of invitees will also be held along with various other programs.

Meanwhile, singer Ajay-Atul's Sangeet Rajni was performed on the backdrop of the convention last night which was inaugurated by the Minister of State for Environment Sanjay Bansode. (UNI)
