Panaji: Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant released a book ‘Manohar Parrikar- Off the Record’ at a function organized at Institute Menezes Braganza hall in the city.The book has been written by senior journalist Waman Subha Prabhu.
The book ‘Manohar Parrikar- Off the Record’ is a collection of memories of Mr Prabhu who happened to be with late Parrikar during the journey of his life. In the book the author has endeavored to narrate multi-faceted personality of late Manohar Parrikar.Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, while speaking, said Late Manohar Parrikar was a great visionary who had dreamt to serve Goa.
'After Bhausaheb Bandodkar Manohar Parrikar strived to achieve the development of Goa in fields like infrastructure, education, industry and agriculture as well. He was a great visionary person who contributed to socio-economic development of Goa. After Bhausaheb Bandodkar Late Manohar Parrikar is another leader who will be remembered by many people all over,' he said.
The Chief Minister said the author who happened to be with Parrikar must have been familiar with the personality, character and other typicalities of the nature of Parrikar which would help readers to derive inspiration from the legendary leader.
Chairman Mastech Ashank Desai, who is also a classmate of late Parrikar, going down to the memory line said late Parrikar was an ambitious person rose to great positions.
'He was a man of discipline and had sound character. He loved Goa and always dreamt to serve Goa. Being in politics late Parrikar have worked to achieve the all-round development of Goa. Mr Prabhu, who was close to Parrikar, has endeavored to narrate memories of Parrikar. This book, no doubt, will serve the purpose as it will help to inspire generations to generations,' he said and congratulated Mr Prabhu for his efforts to write the book.Industrialist Srinivas Dhempe, who was the Guest of Honour, also spoke on the occasion.(UNI)
