After UK report, PIL in Supreme Court seeking expert panel to examine COVISHIELD's side effects

New Delhi: A Public Interest Petition has been filed in the Supreme Court by Advocate Vishal Tiwari seeking an expert panel of medical professionals to study the ill effects and risk factors of the Covid Vaccine used during the Pandemic.

The Petition seeks examination of AstraZeneca’s COVISHIELD vaccine, its side effects and risk factors by a panel of medical experts appointed by the Supreme Court of India.

The Petition has been filed after AstraZeneca’s admission in U.K. court that its vaccine has the potential to cause a rare side effect associated with blood clotting.

The Petitioner has sought strict law against the criminal act committed by selling or circulating the counterfeit Corona Vaccine by any individual or Organization.

Astrazine’s admission in the UK Court triggered the fears among the people who got vaccinated.

The petitioner has also sought that the Apex Court should direct that compensation should be granted to those who have suffered due to side-effects of the vaccination.

The Petition is likely to come up for hearing before the Supreme Court on Thursday.
