COVID-19: India logs 1,054 new cases, 29 deaths in past 24 hrs

New Delhi: India has registered 1,054 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally of cases to 4,30,35,271 in the country, as per the Health Ministry data on Sunday.

As many as 29 fresh fatalities were also recorded in the last 24 hours, taking the total death count in the country, as a result of coronavirus, to 521685.

The active cases stand at 11132 which now comprise 0.03 per cent of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate has decreased to 98.76 per cent.

Meanwhile, 1,2 58 recoveries were reported in the last 24 hours, increasing the total recoveries of 4,25,02,454.

On the vaccination front, the government has been continuously speeding up the vaccination drive across the country.

According to the bulletin issued by the Ministry on Sunday, 79.38 crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far. In the last 24 hours, a total of 4,18345 tests have been conducted.

“India has administered 185.70 cr doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive,” Ministry data said.

More than 188.55 Crore more vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far.

Over 17.47 Crore balance and unutilized Covid-19 vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered, the ministry said. (UNI)
