Covid-19: India logs 1,335 new cases, 52 deaths in last 24 hrs

New Delhi: India registered 1,335 new cases of Covid-19 during the past 24 hours, said data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Friday.

Addition of these new cases takes the country's overall case tally till date to 4,30,25,775.

As many as 52 fresh fatalities were also recorded in the last 24 hours, taking the country's total Corona virus related death toll to 5,21181.

Active cases currently stand at 13,672, which now comprise 0.03 per cent of the total infections. The national recovery rate now stands at 98.76 per cent.

Meanwhile, 1,918 recoveries were reported during the last 24 hours, increasing the total recoveries to 4,24,90,922.

On the vaccination front, the government has been continuously speeding up the vaccination drive across the country.

According to the bulletin issued by the Ministry on Friday, 78.97 Crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far. In the last 24 hours, a total of 6,06,036 tests have been conducted.

“India has administered 184.31 cr doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive,” Ministry data said.

More than 184.92 Crore more vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far.

Over 15.67 Crore balance and unutilized Covid vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered, the ministry said. (UNI)
