COVID-19: India logs 1.72L new cases, 1,008 deaths in last 24 hrs

New Delhi:
India has registered 1,72,433 new Covid-19 cases, the Union Health Ministry data said on Thursday.
According to the bulletin, the total caseload rose to 4,18,03,318, while the death toll rose to 4,98,983 as 1,008 succumbed to the virus.
The recovery tally rose to 3,97,70,414 as 2,59,107 people got freed from the disease. The national recovery rate stands at 95.14 per cent.
The Ministry said the total active cases in the country stood at 15,33,921.
As per the bulletin, 73.41 crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far.
"India has administered 167.87 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive," Ministry data said.
