COVID-19: India logs 1033 new cases, 43 deaths in 24 hrs

New Delhi: India has registered 1033 new covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally of cases to 4,30,31,958 in the country, as per the Health Ministry data on Thursday.

As many as 43 fatalities were also recorded in the last 24 hours, taking the total death count in the country, as a result of coronavirus, to 5,21530.

The active cases stand at 11 639 which now comprise 0.03 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has decreased to 98.76 per cent.

Meanwhile, 1,222 recoveries were reported in the last 24 hours, increasing the total recoveries 4,24,98,789.

On the vaccination front, the government has been continuously speeding up the vaccination drive across the country.

According to the bulletin issued by the Ministry on Thursday, 79.25 Crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far. In the last 24 hours, a total of 4,24,98 789 tests have been conducted.

“India has administered 185.20 cr doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive,” Ministry data said.

More than 186.36 Crore more vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far.

Over 15.92 Crore balance and unutilized Covid-19 vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered, the ministry said. (UNI)
