COVID-19: India logs 18,257 new cases, 42 deaths in last 24 hrs

New Delhi: India registered 18,257 new Covid-19 cases, the Health Ministry said on Sunday.

According to the bulletin issued by the Health Ministry, the total caseload rose to 4,36,22,651, while the death toll rose to 5,25,428 as 42 more succumbed to the disease.

Total 14,553 people recovered from the disease, taking the tally to 4,29,68,533. The recovery rate stands at 98.50 per cent.

The active caseload stands at 1,28,690, the figures showed.

As per the bulletin, 86.66 crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far.

India has administered 198.76 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive. (UNI)
