COVID-19: India logs 4,362 cases, 66 deaths in 24 hrs

New Delhi: India has registered 4,362 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally of cases to to 4,29,67,315 in the country, as per the Health Ministry data on Monday.

As many as 66 fresh fatalities were also recorded in the past 24 hours, taking the total death count in the country, as a result of coronavirus, to 51,5102.

The active cases stand at 54,118, which now comprise 0.13 per cent of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate has decreased to 98.68 per cent.

Meanwhile, 9,620 recoveries were reported in the last 24 hours, increasing the total recoveries 4,23,98,095.

On the vaccination front, the government has been continuously speeding up the vaccination drive across the country.

According to the bulletin issued by the Ministry on Monday, 77.34 crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far. In the last 24 hours, a total of 6,12,926 tests have been conducted.

“India has administered 178. 55 doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive,” Ministry data said.

More than 179.78crore vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far.

Over 15.58 cr balance and unutilized Covid-19 vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered, the ministry said. (UNI)
