COVID-19: India logs 5,476 cases, 158 deaths in last 24 hrs

New Delhi: India has recorded 5,476 new Covid-19 cases during the past 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said on Sunday.

According to the bulletin issued by the Ministry, the total caseload rose to 4,29,38,599 while the death toll rose to 5,15,036 as 158 succumbed to the disease.

On the other hand, 9,754 more people have recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally to 4,29,62,953.

The recovery rate stands at 98.66 per cent. The active caseload stands at 59,442, the figures showed.

According to the bulletin, 77.28 crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far.

India has administered 178.83 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive. (UNI)
