COVID-19: India logs 58,077 new cases, active count dips to 6.9 lakh

New Delhi: India has registered 58,077 Covid-19 cases, while the daily positivity rate stood at 3.89 per cent, as per the Union Health Ministry data on Friday.

A total 657 people succumbed to the virus, taking the toll to 5,07,177.

The Ministry said the total active cases in the country stood at 6,97,802.

The active cases comprise 1.64 per cent of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate has decreased to 97.17 per cent.

The recovery tally rose to 4,13,31,158 as 1,50,407 people got freed from the disease.

According to the bulletin issued, 74.78 crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far. In the last 24 hours, a total of 14,91,678 tests have been conducted.

"India has administered 171.79 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive," Ministry data said.

More than 169.73 crore crores vaccine doses have been provided to states/UTs so far. (UNI)
