COVID-19: India logs 67,597 cases, 1,188 deaths in 24 hrs

New Delhi: India has registered 67,597 Covid-19 cases, while the daily positivity rate stood at 5.02 per cent, as per the Union Health Ministry data on Tuesday.

A total 1,188 people succumbed to the virus, taking the toll to 5,04,062 The Ministry said the total active cases in the country stood at 9,94,891.

The active cases comprise 2.35 per cent of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate has decreased to 96.46 per cent.

The recovery tally rose to 4,08,40,658 as 1,80,456 people got freed from the disease.

According to the bulletin issued, 74.29 crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far. In the last 24 hours, a total of 13,46,534 tests have been conducted.

"India has administered 170.21 Cr doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive," Ministry data said.

More than 168.08 crore crores vaccine doses have been provided to states/UTs so far. (UNI)
