COVID-19: India logs 9,419 new cases, 159 deaths in last 24 hrs

New Delhi:
A total of 9,419 people have tested positive for Covid-19 during the past 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said on Thursday.
As per a bulletin issued by the Ministry, the total caseload rose to 3,46,66,241, while the death toll rose to 4,74,111 as 159 succumbed to the virus.
On a positive note, 8,251 more people have recuperated from the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total recoveries to 3,40, 97,388.
The recovery rate stands at 98.36 per cent, highest since March last year.
The active caseload now stands at 94,742 less than one per cent of the total cases, the figures showed.
According to the bulletin, 65.19 crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far.
India has administered 130.39 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive.
