COVID-19: India records 13,166 cases, 302 deaths in 24 hrs

New Delhi: India registered 13,166 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, while the daily positivity rate stood at 1.28 per cent in the country, as per the Union Health Ministry data released on Friday.

As many as 302 fresh fatalities were also recorded in the past 24 hours, taking the death count in the country to 513226.

The active cases stand at 1,34,235 which now comprise 0.31 per cent of the total infections, while the national recovery rate has decreased to 98.49 per cent.

Meanwhile, 26,988 recoveries were also reported in the last 24 hours, increasing the total recoveries to 4,22,46,884.

According to the bulletin issued by the Ministry on Friday, 76.45 Crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far. In the last 24 hours, a total of 10,30,016 tests have been conducted.

On the vaccination front, the government has been continuously speeding up the vaccination drive across the country.

"India has administered 176.86 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive," Ministry data stated.

More than 173.59 crore vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far.

Over 11.02 crores balance and unutilized Covid vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs, the ministry said. (UNI)
