Fourth wave scare: India records 2380 new COVID-19 cases, 56 deaths in last 24 hrs

New Delhi: India registered 2380 new Covid-19 cases, taking the total tally of cases to 4,30,49,974 in the country, as per the Health Ministry data on Thursday.

As many as 56 fresh Covid fatalities were also recorded, taking the total death count in the country to 5,22,062.

The active cases currently stand at 13,433 which now comprises 0.03 per cent of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate has decreased to 98.76 per cent.

Meanwhile, 1,231 recoveries were reported, increasing the total recoveries to 4,25,14,479.

According to the Ministry's bulletin 83.33 Crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far. In the last 24 hours, a total of 4,49,114 tests have been conducted.

“India has administered 187.07cr doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive,” Ministry data said. (UNI)
