COVID-19: India reports 1,086 new cases, 71 deaths in last 24 hrs

New Delhi: India recorded 1,086 new Covid cases, the Union Health Ministry said on Wednesday.

As per the Ministry's bulletin, the total caseload rose to 4,30,30,925 while the death toll rose to 5,21,487 as 71 more people succumbed to the disease.

On the other hand, 1,198 more people recovered from the disease, taking the total tally to 4,24,97,567.

The recovery rate stands at 98.76 per cent. The active caseload currently stands at 11,871, the figures showed.

According to the bulletin, 79.20 crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far.

India has administered 185.04 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive. (UNI)
