Principal Scientific Advisor to Centre K Vijay Raghavan on Wednesday said that phase three of COVID-19 is inevitable and we need to be prepared.
“A phase three is inevitable, given the higher levels of circulating virus. But it is not clear on what time scale this phase three will occur. We should prepare for new waves,” Dr Raghavan said while briefing media on COVID-19 situation in the country on Wednesday, reported ANI.
India on Wednesday reported 3,82,691 fresh Covid-19 cases, pushing the cumulative caseload stands at 20,658,234, Union Health Ministry data said.
As many as 3,786 fatalities were also reported on Wednesday. With this, the total death toll has mounted to 2,26,188. The country now has 3.49 million active cases. In the past seven days alone, India has added 2,649,808 infections to its tally.
