COVID 4th wave scare: India logs 4,041 new cases in last 24 hrs

New Delhi: India has recorded 4,041 new Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, taking the total tally of cases to 4,31,68,585 in the country, as per the Health Ministry data on Friday.

As many as 10 fresh fatalities were also recorded in the last 24 hours, taking the total death count in the country, as a result of coronavirus, to 52,4651

The active cases stand at 21,177 which now comprise 0.05 percent of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 98.74 percent.

Meanwhile, 2,363 recoveries were reported in the last 24 hours, increasing the total recoveries to 4,26,22757

On the vaccination front, the government has been continuously speeding up the vaccination drive across the country.

According to the bulletin issued by the Ministry on Friday, 85.17 crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far.

In the last 24 hours, a total of 4,25379 tests have been conducted.

“India has administered 193.83 Cr doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive,” Ministry data said.

More than 193.53 Crore more vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far.

Over 15.04 crore balance and unutilized Covid-19 vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered, the ministry said. (UNI)
