India logs 975 new Covid cases in the past 24 hours

New Delhi: India has recorded 975 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally of cases to 4,India has recorded 975 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally of cases to 4,30,40,947 in the country, as per the Health Ministry data on Saturday. As many as 4 fresh fatalities were also recorded in the last 24 hours, taking the total death count in the country, as a result of coronavirus, to 52 1747.

The active cases stand at 11,366 which now comprises 0.03 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has decreased to 98.76 per cent. Meanwhile, 796 recoveries were reported in the last 24 hours, increasing the total recoveries of 4,25,07,834. On the vaccination front, the government has been continuously speeding up the vaccination drive across the country.

According to the bulletin issued by the Ministry on Saturday 83.14 Crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far. In the last 24 hours, a total of 3,00,918 tests have been conducted. “India has administered 186.38 cr doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive,” Ministry data said. More than 192.27 Crore more vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far. Over 20.60 Crore balance and unutilized Covid vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered, the ministry said. (UNI)
