India records slight jump in Covid cases with 10,542 new infections, 27 deaths reported in last 24 hours

New Delhi: India recorded a slight jump in fresh Covid-19 cases with 10,542 new infections have been reported during the the last 24 hours according to the Health Ministry on Wednesday.
 
On Tuesday, the total Covid -19 cases recorded in the country were 7,633. With this the active caseload stood at 10,542 which is 0.14 per cent of the total cases, the Health Ministry said.
 
The toll has risen to 5,31,190 with 27 new fatalities reported in the last 24 hours in various parts of the country.
 
As many as 8,175 patients recovered from the disease during the last 24 hours. The total number of people who have recuperated from the disease is over 4.42 crore (4,42,50,649).
 
The COVID-19 recovery rate stood at 98.67 per cent whereas the fatality rate was recorded at 1.18 per cent.
 
Meanwhile, the daily positivity rate was recorded at 4.39 per cent while the weekly positivity rate was pegged at 5.14 per cent.
 
The Ministry said, 487 vaccine doses of COVID have been administered during the last 24 hours under the nation-wide vaccination drive.
 
Around 220.66 crore total Vaccine doses (95.21 crore second dose and 22.87 crore precaution dose) have been administered so far under Nationwide Vaccination Drive, said the Ministry.
 
Meanwhile, 92.46 crore total tests had been conducted so far; 2,40,014 tests conducted in the last 24 hours, as per the Ministry data.
 
Meanwhile, Delhi yesterday logged 1537 Covid-19 cases, while the positivity rate jumped to 26.54 per cent, and two deaths have been reported due to Covid according to data shared by the city government's health department. (UNI)
