India registers single day spike of 12881 nCov cases, tally rises to 366946

New Delhi:The contagion tally of the country surged to 3,66,946 on Thursday after 12881 fresh cases were recorded in past 24 hours, the health ministry said.The fatalities across the country have reached 12,237 after 334 patients succumbed to the infection since Wednesday.
However, the recovery rate has again witnessed improvement and stands at around 52 per cent now.As per the Health Ministry data, as many as 194325 patients were cured and discharged across the nation while active cases stands at 160384.
 
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research , 6249668 cumulative total samples have been tested till Wednesday for COVID,  while  165 412 such samples were tested in a single day on June 17.
 
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday , had his second leg of the meetings over video conferencing with the state Chief Ministers to review the pandemic situation and discussed measures regarding the same.(UNI)
