India's COVID-19 tally shoots to 332424, death toll rises to 9520

New Delhi: India's COVID-19 contagion  tally surged to 332424 on Monday after recording more than 11,000 infections once again in the last 24-hour.According to the Health Ministry's update, 11502 new cases were added since Sunday.
Casualties have also  witnessed a sharp rise in the past 24 hours, with 325 more people loosing their lives to the virus, taking the country's death toll to 9520.However, the number of contagion  survivors in the country on Monday continued to witness an increase.
 
As per the government data, cured and discharged number of cases at present is 169797 that amount to 16691  more than the active cases which presently stand at 153106.A total of 7418 patients have reportedly recovered since Sunday, the government data revealed.
 
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be holding an all party meeting at 1100 hours to discuss the contagion situation of the national capital which has been witnessing a sharp rise of COVID-19 cases.
 
The Union Home Minister on Sunday held meeting with Delhi's Lieutenant Governor (L-G), CM , the Disaster Management Authority officials, AIIMS director, and Delhi Police Commissioner and later he also held discussion with the city Mayors, Municipal commissioners and other officials to review the COVID-19 status of the city and formulate strategies to make Delhi COVID free.
 
Delhi since two weeks has been witnessing sharp spikes in the number of cases and the situation is becoming serious day by day.(UNI)
