Maharashtra: Daily COVID tally shoots up to 6,493

Mumbai:
Maharashtra has reported 6,493 fresh Covid-19 cases, according to a health bulletin released on Monday.
The state’s cumulative case tally has surged to 79,62,666, while the overall toll stood at 1,47,905 with five new deaths reported.
The bulletin said 6,213 patients were cured of the virus and discharged, taking the recovery count to 77,90,153.
The state's recovery rate significantly came down to 97.83 per cent and fatality rate stood at 1.86 per cent.
So far, total 8,18,52,623 samples were investigated in the state of them 79,62,666 were tested as positive i.e. 9.73 per cent.
Presently, there are 24,608 active Covid-19 patients undergoing treatment in different hospitals, it added.
Meanwhile, no positive cases were reported across in the two districts of Marathwada region, the bulletin said.
