Maharashtra reports 3,098 new COVID cases, 6 deaths in 24 hrs

Mumbai: Maharashtra has reported 3,098 Covid-19 case and 6 deaths, the health bulletin stated on Wednesday.

With these new cases, the state’s cumulative case tally surged to 79,89,909 and the death toll stands at 1,47,949.

Meanwhile, 4,207 people have recovered, taking overall count of recoveries to 78,21,140.

The state's recovery rate significantly came down to 97.87 per cent and fatality rate stands at 1.85 per cent.

At present, there are 20,820 active patients.

In Marathwada region, 159 cases and single death were reported -- 77 Covid cases and one death in Aurangabad district followed by 37 cases in Jalna district, 14 cases each in Osmanabad and Latur districts, 9 in Beed district, 7 cases in Nanded district and a single case in Parbhani, the bulletin added.
