Another 60K spike 2 days in a row,Further surge in COVID tally

New Delhi:India's COVID recovery rate on Saturday improved to 68.32 per cent, after the country recorded 48,900 cured and discharged cases in the past 24 hours with recoveries crossing the 14 lakh mark.
According to the Union Health Ministry, 1,42,7005 persons have so far defeated the virus across the country.
 
However, the active cases of the contagion are now 6,19,088, as per government data.Fatalities in India due to the COVID contagion have increased to 42,518 after 933 people reportedly died due to the virus in the past one day.
 
The death percentage, however, has further reduced and presently stands at 2.04 per cent in the country.
 
Overall contagion tally across the nation now stands at 20,88,611, as per the Union Health Ministry update this morning.On the brighter side , the recovered cases have exceeded the active cases by 8,07,917.
 
A total of 2,33,87,171  samples have been tested for COVID as per the Indian Council of Medical Research till Friday.(UNI)
