No Covid-19 deaths in last 24 hours in 18 states/UTs: Health ministry

New Delhi: India on Wednesday recorded 11,610 new cases of COVID-19 during the past 24 hours, pushing the country’s caseload to 10,937,320, while the death toll mounted to 1,55,913, with 100 more fatalities.

According to the Union Health Ministry, the active cases stand at 1,36,549, down by 323.

Of the fresh fatalities, 39 were from Maharashtra, 18 from Kerala, 7 from Tamil Nadu, 6 each from Karnataka and Chhattisgarh and 5 from Punjab.

The past 24 hours saw 11,833 people recovering from the deadly virus, taking the total recovery count to 10,644,858 which is 97.33 per cent of the case tally.

The fatality rate stood at 1.43 per cent. Kerala has reported the maximum number of single day recoveries with 5,439 newly recovered cases while 2,700 people recovered in Maharashtra in the past 24 hours.

According to Health Ministry, 18 states/UTs have not reported any death in the last 24 hours. (UNI)
