The Gujarat government’s Social Justice and Empowerment Department has decided to simplify and fully digitize the process of obtaining an Income Certificate, making it faster and more citizen-friendly.

Under the new system, applicants will no longer need to submit multiple income proof documents. Instead, they will be required to provide a self-declaration of their income.

While the process has been simplified, the government has also ensured transparency. Strict legal action will be taken against anyone found submitting false information.

QR Code and Digital E-Seal for Verification

As part of the new digital initiative, income certificates will now feature a QR code and a digitally signed e-seal. This will allow instant verification of the certificate’s authenticity and help prevent the misuse of fake documents.

SSO System to Speed Up Applications

To further streamline the process, the government will implement a Single Sign-On (SSO) system. Through this platform, citizens will be able to access multiple government services from a single portal without repeatedly entering their personal details.

Apply From Home and Track Status Online

Applicants can now apply for an income certificate online from the comfort of their homes. They will also be able to track the status of their application digitally, eliminating the need to visit government offices multiple times.

The move is aimed at enhancing transparency, reducing paperwork, and making public services more accessible and efficient.
