Go gold in September for 'Childhood Cancer Awareness'

New Delhi: September is the 'Childhood Cancer Awareness' month and gold is it's colour. 
Childhood Cancer Survivors from 'KidscanKonnect'-- the Teenage and Young Adult Group of CanKids are leading an advocacy campaign 'Go Gold India' this September, to advocate to Central and State governments that childhood cancer should be a child health priority in India.
 
 As part of the campaign, the Kidcan Konnect group is organising a two day National Conference on September 8-9 at British School, Chankyapuri, which will be followed by the 10th Annual National Childhood Cancer Excellence Awards Programme here.
 
 About 100 Childhood Cancer Survivors from across the country will be invited to participate in this conference including KCK Survivors from your region. 
 
Anupriya Patel, Union Minister of State, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest for the conference along with Dr Vinod Kumar Paul, Member Niti Aayog as Chief Guest of Honour. 
 
Panellists from different walks of life will be speaking at the conference to motivate the survivors.
 
The conference aims to build capacities of Childhood Cancer Survivors and launch a Fellowship for them and Break the stigma of cancer and cancer survivorship. 
 
The 'Survivor Passport' website will also be launched during the conference which is a Service for Childhood Cancer Survivors so that they have a copy of the complete medical record of their treatment and its long-term side effects, due dates for the periodic checkup and Doctor's advice on Do's and Dont's.
 
The conference will also witness the finalising and presenting of a resolution on 'Right to Education' on the conclusion of the National Debate on 'Childhood Cancer Survivorship? a Disability?'(UNI)
