Dol Gyaras, also known as Jaljhulani Ekadashi, Parivartini Ekadashi, or Vaman Ekadashi, is observed on the eleventh day of Shukla Paksha in the month of Bhadrapada. On this day, Lord Vaman and Lord Vishnu are worshipped with great devotion. In many regions, devotees also perform Krishna's Suraj Pujan (Jalwa Pujan), which symbolizes auspicious new beginnings.
According to religious beliefs, observing this Ekadashi brings respect, prosperity, position, wealth, and happiness in life. Special remedies (upay) performed on this day are considered highly effective in removing obstacles and fulfilling wishes.
5 Special Remedies of Dol Gyaras
1. For Financial Growth
Offer a whole coconut and 125 grams of whole almonds in Lord Vishnu's temple. This remedy is believed to attract wealth and financial stability.
2. To Get Rid of Loans
If you are trapped in debt or struggle to repay loans despite repeated efforts, offer sugar at the root of a Peepal tree on this day. Also, pour water at the base of the tree and light a lamp under it in the evening.
3. For Good Fortune
On the night of Dol Gyaras, light a lamp with nine wicks (nava bati deepak) in front of Lord Vishnu at home or in a temple. Let it burn throughout the night. This practice is believed to clear debts, bring economic growth, and fill life with happiness and prosperity.
4. For Early Marriage
Unmarried men and women facing delays in marriage should offer yellow flowers to Lord Vishnu, apply sandalwood paste, and present gram flour sweets (besan ke laddu) as naivedya. This helps remove obstacles in marriage.
5. For Business and Wealth
While performing Vishnu Puja, keep a few coins in front of the deity. After worship, tie the coins in a red silk cloth and keep them in your purse or locker. This remedy is especially beneficial for businessmen, as it is believed to attract wealth and success.
