First Shravan Somvar: Devotees throng to darshan of 3 Jyotirlinga in Marathwada region

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Thousands of devotees thronged for the blessings of three 'Shiva Jyotirlingas' across the Marathwada region of Maharashtra state since the wee hours of Monday on on occasion of the first 'Shravan Somvar' falling today.
 
Reports from the respective Jyotirlingas stated that at Ellora in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar districts, special arrangements have been made for the darshan of 'Ghrishneshwar' temple, about 35 km away from here. Authorities expected that above 2 lakh devotees were likely to visit for darshan.
 
The historic Ellora heritage is known for its world-famous number 16, 'Kailash Cave', near the Ghrishneswar Joytirlinga.
 
Police have diverted heavy traffic passing from the temple in view of the possible rush of devotees for darshan.
 
A report from Beed district of the region stated that long queues were seen in front of 'Parli-Vaijnath' Jyotirlinga Temple in Parli tehsil of the district since wee hours of today (one of 12 Jyotirlingas in the country).
 
While the same scene was witnessed at 'Aundha Nagnath', in Aundha tehsil of Hingoli district, third Jyotirlinga in Marathwada. 'Shivalingas' were worshipped on the auspicious festival, and special 'poojas' and 'Abhisheks' performed on the occasion.
 
Meanwhile, since wee hours of today across the city, devotees have been seen in local Shiv temples having darshan by offering 'Belpatra'to Lord Shiva and observing a day-long fast on this occasion.
