The holy month of Shravan (Sawan) is set to begin from 11th July 2025. Known as the holiest period in the Hindu calendar, Shravan is believed to be the most spiritually charged time to please Lord Shiva and remove obstacles from one’s life. This year, the first Monday of Sawan, also known as Sawan Somvar, falls on 14th July 2025. sPerforming specific remedies from the Lal Kitab during this holy period can remove financial struggles, bad luck, and chronic life problems. Do only one remedy per day, and make sure to perform it during daytime for best results.
1. Blanket Donation: Donate white or black blankets in a Shiva temple or give them to a needy or poor person.
2. Food Donation: Feed ants, birds, cows, dogs, crows, fishes, tortoises, old people, orphans, girls, and the disabled. You can also water trees.
3. Chhaya Daan: Avoid bad karmas linked to Saturn — such as adultery, alcohol, interest-based earnings, or cruelty. On each Saturday of Shravan, take mustard oil in a steel bowl, look at your face’s reflection in it, then place the bowl in a Shani temple.
4. Coconut Remedy: Take a watery coconut, circle it 21 times over yourself and your family members, and then burn it in a fire outside the home. Also, take 6 coconuts, wave each 21 times in the same way, and throw them in flowing water.
5. Donation to the Priest: Offer yellow clothes, spiritual books, or yellow food items to an old temple priest or guru.
6. Rock Salt Remedy: Before sleeping, place a bowl of rock salt in your bedroom and sleep with your head facing east.
7. Tilak Ritual: Apply a tilak of sacred ash (bhasma), sandalwood (chandan), or saffron (kesar) daily on your forehead. Continue this practice every day throughout Shravan.
8. Hanuman Chalisa Path: Recite the Hanuman Chalisa daily. If not possible daily, visit a Hanuman temple on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and offer chola (vermilion paste and oil). Also, observe fasts on Ekadashi, Pradosh, or Thursdays.
9. Black Flute Remedy: Take a black-colored flute or paint a regular one black, fill it with sugar, and bury it in a deserted place.
