Tirumala: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Trust board, the highest decision making body of the world Venkateswara swamy temple, in its meeting decided to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) and advanced technology to reduce darshan timings to 2 to 3 hours.
Taking to the media after his maiden boarding meeting held at Annamaiah bhavan here, TTD Trust Board Chairman B R Naidu along with Executive Officer J Symala Rao, said the board has decided to use AI and advanced technology by taking the experts’ advice to reduce the darshan time of Sri Venkateswara Swamy from 20 to 30 hours to 2 to 3 hours.
The board also decided to merge SRIVANI Trust (Sri Venkateswara Aalayala Nirmanam Trust) into the TTD account and verifying the possibilities to change its name while continuing the scheme, he said.
The Trust was floated by the TTD during the erstwhile YSRCP regime in September 2019. Donations to the trust, which are linked to VIP break darshan at the Tirumala temple, became popular among the devotees as there is always huge demand for VIP darshan at the hill temple.
The new TTD Chairman had earlier announced that they will conduct a thorough enquiry into all corruption allegations reported at Srivani trust, and the board is likely to pass a resolution to take the enquiry forward.
The board has given a nod to discontinue darshan quota linked with the Tourism Corporations of various states after a thorough examination of the complaints regarding irregularities in the issue of SED tickets under this category, Naidu said.
Besides passing a resolution to request the state government to hand other the 20 acres land given to Tourism at Alipiri to TTD near Devlok Project, the Board also decided to cancel the lease of Mutt due to violation of the TTD rules by the Visakha Sarada Peetham following the Experts Committees' report, he said.
To prioritize local devotees, the board has decided to reserve the first Tuesday of every month for Tirupati residents to have darshan, the TTD Chairman added.
TTD to take legal action if any person makes political statements in Tirumala
TTD Trust Board also decided to take legal action if any person makes political statements in Tirumala.
Legal action will be taken if needed against such persons as well as those who propagate them, TTD Chief B R Naidu told reporters.
The Board also passed a resolution to write a letter to the state government for taking an appropriate decision about the 'non-Hindus working' in Tirumala, he said.
BR Naidu had earlier categorically stated that only Hindus should be allowed to work in the temple trust.
Other decisions include naming the Srinivasa Setu Flyover as ‘Garuda Varadhi’ and clearing the piled up debris in the dumping yard at Tirumala within 3-4 months, he informed.
To enhance transparency and governance, TTD deposits will be transferred from private banks to the nationalized banks and this decision will be taken in the next board meeting, the TTD Chief said.
He emphasized that all actions are focused on improving the experience of devotees and maintaining Tirumala’s sanctity, without political interference.
