11 civilians killed in Burkina Faso attack

Ouagadougou: Eleven people were killed on Wednesday in an attack in north-central Burkina Faso, the governor of the region Casimir Segueda said in a statement on Friday.

On Wednesday evening, unidentified armed men carried out an attack against the village of Ankouna in the commune of Pensa, Sanmatenga (Center-North) Province.The attack, which targeted the civilian population, left 11 dead and one injured, said the governor.

Security in Burkina Faso has worsened since 2015, with terrorist attacks having killed more than 1,000 people and displaced over one million others in the West African nation(UNI/Xinhua)
